Ah Jie, who returns to his hometown after several years, soon realizing that no one remembers him. Even his family denies his existence. Depressed, Ah Jie meets Lao Huang, who runs a small-town restaurant. Lao Huang tells Ah Jie that he can help him discover the truth as to why no one recognizes him. However, Ah Jie is suddenly involved in an accidental murder. As the stranger in town, he is the prime suspect. He is ultimately sentenced to death in an absurd trial held by his childhood friends and family. After several years, Ah Jie who was supposed to be a deadman appears again at Lao Huang restaurant to start a journey with no returns.
1973年生於馬來西亞吉隆玻。 1998年日本大阪大學電氣工程畢業。在東京當了六年網絡工程師後到北京電影學院讀電影。 2010年完成處女長片《其後》後，一年內再完成兩部長片“Magic and Loss“ 和 《新世界》，分別入選香港國際電影節，釜山國際電影節等。2012年擔任東京國際電影節《亞洲之窗》單元的評審。同年，東京一著名藝術影院舉辦他以上三部長片的回顧特集。2013年完成“Fly Me to Minami”，入選大阪亞洲電影節等，並在同年被台灣南方影展選為焦點導演。 2016年完成長片《愛在深秋》，於香港和中國商業院線上映。是少有的其作品曾於中國和日本商業院線作公映的馬來西亞導演。 2017年夏天他在東歐巴爾幹半島諸國拍攝了兩部獨立電影，長篇“Nowhere,Now here” 和中篇“Lost in Belgrade”，現正在後期剪輯中。
Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1973, Kah-Wai Lim graduated in Osaka University majoring in Electrical Engineering in 1998. Lim studied film in Beijing Film Academy after 6 years of Network Engineer in Tokyo. He had his directorial debut “AFTER ALL THESE YEARS” in 2010 and one year later finished two feature-length movies titled “MAGIC AND LOSS” and “NEW WORLD” which were selected for screening at Hong Kong International Film Festival and Busan International Film Festival. He was a jury member of Winds of Asian section at the Tokyo International Film Festival in 2012. Retrospective of his three feature-length movies was screened at a renowned art-house cinema in Tokyo in the same year. Lim finished “FLY ME TO MINAMI” in 2013 and the movie was selected in Osaka Asian Film Festival. He was also elected as the “Director in Focus” at South Taiwan Film Festival in the same year. “LOVE IN LATE AUTUMN” was his latest work in 2016 being released at commercial cinema circuits in both China and Hong Kong. Lim was one of a few Malaysian directors to have movies released commercially in both Japan and China.He has just completed shooting one feature film “Nowhere, Now Here “ in Slovenia,Croatia and Macedonia and one medium-length film “ Lost in Belgrade” in Serbia and Montenegro this summer.
